A charitable initiative from Dr Natasha’s Retina Care

Childhood Uveitis Blindness Support

Paediatric Uveitis is a signicant contributor to Paediatric blindness and the children suffering from it require longterm treatment and timely medical and surgical interventions to prevent them from going blind. This causes considerable financial burden on the parents who are not able to sustain the long duration of treatment especially with other siblings to take care of. It has been a.long cherished dream to give some solace to these families whose trials and tribulations I have been a part of since the last 15 years.

It gives me great pleasure to announce the launch of my charitable initiative, CUBS- Childhood Uveitis Blindness Support , a registered charitable Trust to support children with Uveitis, a vision threatening chronic disease. This trust has been launched to give them financial help when they require it for control of their disease and to prevent blindness. I look forward to your support in this endeavour …to be a tiny lighthouse in the vast sea of Paediatric Blindness .

The Trust was launched on January 4th 2025 by Cheif Editor Malayala Manorama, Mr Philip Mathew and the first cheques of the Trust was presented by Cine Actor Kunchacko Boban to children suffering from Paediatric Uveitis. The inaugural function was graced by the presence of Dr Mahesh G, President KSOS, Dr Vishali Gupta and Dr Padmamalini Mahendradas representatives of the Uveitis Society of India and Dr Anil Das , President of Cochin Ophthalmic Club.

In its first year of functioning, we have helped 15 children and their families with continuous monthly financial aid to fund their treatment .

Thanks to philanthropists and wellwishers, CUBS got off to a very good start and was featured as an Editorial in Vanitha magazine.

If you would like to contribute to this good cause, please transfer to the following account.Any amount small or big are welcome.Donations to CUBS are exempt from Income Tax under 80 G exemption and we will be happy to issue a receipt for the same.
